Sheet and cushion vinyl flooring London
Vinyl flooring is an affordable option for areas of the home where a resilient and durable floor covering is required. In kitchens and bathrooms it provides a continuous waterproof covering. We have a carefully selected range from wood effect, tile effect, to funky marble effects and even flat colours.

Why a vinyl floor?Domestic Vinyl floors are hard wearing, come in a very large range of colours and textures such a wood, stone, tiles, flat colours, metals and glass. They are easy to clean, last a long time and are economical. |
What is vinyl floor made from?Vinyl is a synthetic, man-made substance made from a special type of plastic called polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Vinyl flooring retains it's elasticity upon impact and gives a slight 'bounce' to a floor, making it a comfortable surface to walk on. |
Is it the same as lino? No, although they are often confused, linoleum is a floor covering made from linseed oil (linoxyn), pine rosin, ground cork dust, wood flour, jute and limestone among other things. It is more environmentally friendly than vinyl as most of these materials are from renewable sources. It's waterproof, hard wearing and nice to walk on - and much more expensive than vinyl. |
Vinyl or lino?Basically, vinyl is cheaper to buy and 75% cheaper to fit. It deals with moisture better and won't expand and contract with temperature changes. For most domestic installations vinyl is probably the right choice but then Marmoleum or lino is a luxury product. |

It is not advisable, but in some cases it can be done. If it's for dressing a house for sale, for example, and not a long-term solution, then it may be acceptable. However, for permanent installations, we recommend removing the old vinyl first for the best results. Ideally, you have a flat concrete floor or a flat plyboarded floor. Even cushion vinyl flooring is thin, and while it is soft and cushioned, it will take the shape of the subfloor very quickly. Just understand that if you don't want to screed under it, the vinyl will show any imperfections in the subfloor beneath. Yes, we can work outside normal office hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate your schedule and minimize disruption. Yes, we provide a full vinyl fitting service which includes uplifting and removal of old flooring, repair of subfloor, installing new plyboard and latex screeded floors, cutting and fitting the vinyl, and sealing the edges with silicon if you wish. We handle everything from start to finish. |
What People Say. Our testimonialsI was in need of a new carpet for just one room in my flat and Cavendish deVere were incredible helpful from picking the right carpet for our needs, and finding the closest match to carpet in the rest of the flat. The responses by email were incredibly quick and helpful, and they were incredibly approachable. The final job was brilliant and the carpet was better than I could have imagined. Thank you for all your help. Kelley S of Richmond, October 2017 |
