Out-of-Hours Carpet Installation in London
For hotels, restaurants, offices and retail premises, daytime carpet fitting simply isn't practical. Taking a hotel room out of service during check-in hours, or closing a restaurant section during trading, costs money and disrupts operations. Overnight fitting solves the problem entirely.
Cavendish deVere has been offering overnight and out-of-hours carpet installation across London since 2014. Our teams are experienced in working efficiently during restricted time windows — arriving after last check-out, fitting through the night, and leaving the space clean and guest-ready before the morning.
What "Overnight" Actually Means
For most hotel rooms, the sequence is: access the room after the last guest checks out (typically 11pm or later), strip out the old carpet, prepare the subfloor, fit the new carpet and accessories, and have the room clean and reset by 7am. A standard double or twin room — around 15–20m² — sits comfortably within this window for an experienced two-person team.
Where We Fit Overnight
- Hotel guest rooms — bedrooms, suites, connecting rooms, accessible rooms
- Hotel corridors and stairwells — high-traffic circulation areas that can't be blocked during the day
- Restaurants and bars — after closing, ready for first sitting the next day
- Offices and co-working spaces — fitted over weekends or evenings without disrupting staff
- Retail premises — before opening, avoiding any disruption to customers
- Conference and meeting rooms — fitted while not in use, ready for the next booking

Frequently Asked Questions
How many rooms can you fit in one overnight shift?
This depends on room size and team size. A two-person team can typically complete two to three standard guest rooms per overnight shift. For larger programmes, we can deploy additional teams. We'll agree the nightly target during planning.
What if a room takes longer than expected?
We always leave contingency time in the programme. If a subfloor needs additional preparation or a room is larger than the survey indicated, we have the flexibility to absorb it. We won't rush a fit just to hit the clock.
Do you charge a premium for overnight work?
We're transparent about pricing. Overnight and out-of-hours work carries a modest surcharge to reflect the unsocial hours, but this is clearly set out in the written quote so there are no surprises.
Can you work across multiple nights?
Yes, and for larger hotel programmes this is the most common approach. We agree a nightly schedule in advance and work through the programme systematically, keeping you updated on progress.
What areas of London do you cover?
All London boroughs. We're based in Wimbledon and regularly work across Central, West, South, North and East London. Travel to any part of the city is included in our quotes.
