How we do it

While straight staircases are simpler, winding stairs require templating. Our team will visit your St Johns Wood property to measure flights, present samples and understand your design vision for the perfect custom runner.

The process - how we do it

While a straight set of stairs is fairly straightforward, if you have winders—stairs that go around corners—you'll need a template and we'll visit you in St Johns Wood. We measure the flights of stairs, bring samples and discuss your requirements. At this stage many of our designer and architect clients provide us with a design.

After the quote - what happens?

Upon accepting your quotation, we template intricate designs or winding stairs. The carpet is ordered, arrives at our workshop, gets cut to specification, edges whipped and bound, quality-checked, then delivered to your St Johns Wood property for expert installation.

A stair runner is a carpet that goes in the middle of a flight of stairs leaving the treads visible on either side.

Whipping is an edge treatment applied to stair runners to seal and protect the edges. It creates a clean, professional finish.

A bordered runner has decorative tape or fabric sewn along the edges, creating a contrasting or complementary design element.
