Marmoleum fitter Clapham SW4, London

A very interesting project this morning fitting Marmoleum into a bathroon in Clapham SW4. Marmoleum is having a real renaissance at the moment and is proving very popular in the wealthy and trend-setting areas of London. In the last few months we have seen a dramatic increase in enquiries for Marmoleum and Linoleum in Battersea, Notting Hill, Clapham, Primrose Hill, West Hampstead, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Mayfair, St. John’s Wood, Belsize Park, Islington, Wimbledon Village and of course Crystal Palace.

We did have an enquiry from Hackney for Marmoleum in a bathroom but I’m not sure we will be fitting it there for a while yet. And that’s because in fairness, it is a luxury product, expensive to buy and fit. You can find the cost of fitting Marmoleum here.

Anyway, it is a beautiful substance and looks stunning fitted properly but it takes a specialist to fit. It is made of linseed oil and it is brittle before it is installed onto a floor and needs careful handling. But it is soft underfoot and warm so we can see why it is starting to edge out the good old ceramic tile in bathrooms and shower rooms.

Look for a specialist flooring company if you want to get it in your home. It is too expensive to get wrong.

Here is how today’s fitting went.

Order of works

Uplift and removal of existing flooring

1 bathroom

Prepare floor with Micro Finish 500 to get an even surface

Cut and fit vinyl floor (supplied by client) with adhesive (supplied by client)

Clean and clear upon completion

The result? Well I think you will agree that this Marmoleum floor looks quite stunning.
