Data Centre & Server Room Flooring in Enfield

Enfield and the north London data centre corridor

The Enfield and Lee Valley industrial corridor — running through Brimsdown, Ponders End and Edmonton along the A10 — has long hosted significant industrial and logistics activity, and increasingly attracts data centre operators drawn by available land, power grid access and direct routes into the capital. Cavendish deVere deliver specialist data centre flooring across Enfield and north London, with expertise in ESD flooring for server halls and technical zones, heavy-duty safety vinyl for plant areas, and high-quality commercial finishes for office and ancillary accommodation throughout a data centre campus.

Specifying the right ESD system

Not all data centre spaces have identical flooring requirements. A server hall housing racks of blade servers has different electrostatic risk exposure to a network operations centre or a colocation cage area. We work with facilities managers and M&E consultants at specification stage to identify the correct EN 1081 resistance classification — electrostatic conductive (EC) or static dissipative (SD) — for each zone. Products we commonly specify include Marmoleum Ohmex, Forbo Sphera EC and Gerflor DLW conductive grades, all installed with the appropriate copper earthing infrastructure and documented to the required standard.

Plant and ancillary areas

Generator rooms, transformer bays, battery storage rooms and mechanical plant areas demand flooring that can withstand chemical spillage, heavy static and dynamic loads, and constant foot traffic from maintenance personnel. We supply and install heavy-duty safety vinyl — including Altro Stronghold, Polyflor Expona and Tarkett iQ — across all plant and ancillary areas, with full coved skirtings and welded seams to produce a watertight, hygienic and durable floor finish. Our teams carry the appropriate site safety certifications for working in high-voltage and restricted-access environments.

Why choose a specialist installer?

ESD flooring is not a standard commercial installation. The consequences of incorrect specification or poor installation — an incomplete earth path, inadequate adhesive coverage, a skipped earthing connection — can compromise the entire system. Cavendish deVere are accredited members of the NICF and the CFA Contract Flooring Association, and we bring the technical knowledge and installation discipline that data centre ESD flooring demands. We are not a general contractor with a linoleum subcontractor: this is work we carry out directly, to standard, with appropriate documentation at every stage.

Refurbishment within live facilities

Many Enfield-area facilities are in continuous operation. Flooring refurbishment in a live data centre requires meticulous planning: defined access routes, dust containment, working-hour restrictions, and clear handover protocols between trades. We are experienced in this environment and approach every live-facility project with the operational risk awareness it demands. Our RAMS documentation is detailed, site-specific, and produced ahead of any mobilisation — not a generic template filled in on arrival.
