Havwoods Bronzo Wood floor installation 200m2 fitted in The Gentleman Baristas E14
Just finished a nice, good sized project for a fantastic new chain of coffee shops called The Gentlemen Baristas. They have some terrific locations and really cool interiors. We did another floor for them in Brewer Street a few months ago. This time we are in the Wharf in E14.
First we had 200m2 of Acoustic underlay called Soundsense to lay. We use this product a lot. It’s great to work with, expensive but then you get what you pay for. It’s a cork composite underlay designed to provide impact sound insulation under laminate and engineered wood floors and its made from totally recycled agglomerated cork and rubber granules which are bound together to form an acoustic sheet which delivers resilience and durability – and it works with underfloor heating installations.
Took us a day to lay that and then we moved onto the wood. A beautiful Havwoods Bronzo OAk wood for Italian Collection. Brushed and Lacquered in a 10mm x 120mm x 1000mm-1400mm and as you can see we glued this to the underlay. In fact we rarely fit a floating wooden floor. Very rarely, they are just too risky and not solid enough.
As everything was behind with the build – not an unusual occurrence the pressure was on to finish the floor in time to open the shop for business on Saturday. And no cutting any corners whatsoever!
I’m happy to say Steve and his team delivered admirably. The cuts and finish was – and we will blow our own trumpet here – sensational and the client was delighted.
Here is how it went and what it looked like. And I will make a post of the shop when it’s open. It looks fantastic!
