In the heart of Wimbledon SW19, London, we were entrusted with a project that required precision, patience, and a keen eye for detail. The task was clear: fit a beautiful faux sisal carpet onto multiple flights of stairs and landings, transforming the home’s aesthetic while meeting the exacting standards of our client, Peter.

The Vision

From the outset, it was evident that this wasn’t just another carpet fitting job. Peter, the homeowner, had a clear vision and an unwavering commitment to perfection. While there was no existing flooring to remove, the landings required an additional layer of hardboard, tacked securely in place, to create the perfect base. Underlay was then carefully cut, adhered, and fixed with precision grippers to ensure durability and comfort underfoot.

The selected carpet, Anywhere Ca-rPET Boucle Realign, was both stylish and sustainable – in fact it amke. Its textured finish promised durability while maintaining an elegant look that perfectly complemented the home’s interior.

A Challenging Flight

The second flight of stairs posed a unique challenge. Open stringers along the side meant that the raw carpet edge needed to be meticulously tucked under, creating a seamless finish. This was no ordinary task—it required both skill and close collaboration with Peter to ensure every edge, every fold, and every finish was executed flawlessly.
