Forbo Marmoleum Cocoa Earl Grey Chocolate. A lovely project in London. Start to finish from an insurance claim, a flood we were led to believe.<\/p>\n

The client had marmoleum down before but by all accounts it had not been fitted that well anyway, which is why we were called. To make sure that it was all fitted to the very highest standard this time.<\/p>\n

Here is how it went.<\/p>\n

Areas to be fitted kitchen bedroom and bathroom\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Points to note: You need 61m2 of Marmoleum because of the width of the roll but you only actually need 49m2 of it fitted.<\/p>\n

Description of works<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remove existing flooring,that is not been removed in bathroom and half of bedroom<\/p>\n

Apply p51 primer to subfloor areas in basement<\/p>\n

Apply ardex na screed to subfloor areas<\/p>\n

Apply feather finish and sand to create smooth, flat surface<\/p>\n

Template where required, cut and fit Marmoleum flooring to subfloor adhere with adhesive<\/p>\n

Clean and clear site upon completion<\/p>\n

And a little bit about marmoleum and why it is so good for domestic floors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Originally known as Lino or Linoleum, Marmoleum is a natural flooring made from renewable materials by Forbo.<\/p>\n

Forbo<\/b>\u00a0Holding AG based in Baar ZG is a globally operating Swiss manufacturer of floor coverings and building and construction adhesives as well as power transmission and light conveyor belts. …\u00a0Forbo<\/b>\u00a0has 5700 employees and achieved a turnover in 2018 of 1,327.0 million Swiss francs. I expect that will be a little down in 2020.<\/p>\n

Linoleum was actually invented by Englishman\u00a0Frederick Walton<\/b>. In 1855,\u00a0Walton<\/b>\u00a0happened to notice the rubbery, flexible skin of solidified linseed oil (linoxyn) that had formed on a can of oil-based paint and thought that it might form a substitute for India rubber. Forbo still carries a range called ‘Walton’ in honour of Frederick Walton.<\/p>\n
