Replacing black quartz floor tiles in London
Replacing quartz floor tiles in London. We had an all night project on Saturday for a well know cosmetics company on Oxford Street, London. We don’t often take on ceramic floor tiles or quartz floor tiles in this case but it s for a special client and they just didn’t have anyone reliable and so we stepped in.
The tile was big and was rocking and affetcing for others, it wasn’t nice for the customers t walk on.
Here’s what we did.
The guys arrived at 10pm.
As they had already had a thorough look last time they suspected that only one tile would need replacing because the others could accessed once it was removed.
They had to smash the tile to remove it as in the photos, that has been taken away.
The area underneath was dug out right down to the concrete and wooden battons.
The adjacent tiles did not have enough adhesive and there were cavities underneath, this is why there were breaking the grout as they rocked when anyone walked on them.
The boys back filled the cavities underneath the tiles to make a solid subfloor replaced the centre tile, fixed it with quick setting adhesive and re-grouted.
They cleared the area and left at 3am – mopping the whole shop 3 times! Now that s service, but what else would you expect from London’d premier commercial flooring contractors!
